Our Beef

Our Organic Aberdeen Angus X Hereford cattle utilise brassica crops in the spring and are grazed on the rolling Quantock Hills throughout the Summer.

In the Autumn and Winter, they are brought indoors where they enjoy grass forage which we cut and preserve from our fields over the Summer.

Farming in a low-intensive manner and letting the cattle graze naturally is how we can farm without the use of chemicals, working with the natural environment to create sustainable organic meat.

Great tasting, nutrient-dense meat comes from cattle that are slow-grown and allowed to freely graze eating a pasture-based diet that they are designed to feed on. Not a diet of soya and cereals.

At Secret Valley cattle graze a 100% pasture or a green diet of diverse organic pasture in summer and a mix of organic brassicas in winter.

This method of farming revitalizes the soil and provides our cattle with a diverse diet of herbs, grasses and brassicas without the need for feeding any cereals.

Farming in this way not only ensures we produce top quality, delicious, nutrient-dense meat but it also contributes towards the creation of diverse, resilient ecosystems, where the animals play a crucial role in healthy, carbon-rich soils.

Our grass-fed cattle herd are carefully produced to the highest welfare standards (Soil Association & Red Tractor Approved) giving you the reassurance that you're buying the best quality meat.
